The “Be Ready” Employer Hub supports Devon-based businesses, charities, social enterprises and public sector to understand and build on the benefits of employing (and keeping) people with disabilities and long-term health conditions.
Our focus is on the ability and talent of individuals to highlight the business benefits of having a more diverse workforce – from recruiting new roles to supporting existing employees (as 83% of disabilities are developed whilst at work). As a fully funded service, we provide training, information and a telephone call-back service free-of-charge.
We recognise there is a lot of information and data available for employers, but it is not easy (or quick!) to find when you have limited time. Our Information Hub pulls together the key details you need to recruit and retain people with disabilities, such as Access to Work grants, and what “Reasonable Adjustments” look like in practice.
Our service includes how to tap into the potential market of the Purple Pound — the estimated annual spend of disabled people, their family and friends worth c. £249 billion in the UK each year.
