The first Bideford Business Expo will open its doors to businesses at 10am on Thursday 25 October at Devon Hall, Bideford College in North Devon.
The event creates opportunities for businesses to exhibit their products and services in a professional business environment, while visitors can pick up useful tips on a range of business topics from the programme of five presentations delivered by local experts. The whole event will be knitted together by a free ‘nibble and network’ lunchtime buffet where exhibitors, presenters and visitors can make new connections over a bite to eat.
BBxpo is organised by Need it Find it, a partnership between Alan Williams, a former Bideford College pupil, and Robert Zarywacz. It was Alan’s idea to create a business event to complement the advertising leaflet Need it Find it distributes across Bideford to promote business growth and development. Robert applied his professional experience of organising business events and initiatives to develop BBxpo, arrange the presentation programme and market it. The result is an event offering a range of opportunities to forward-looking North Devon businesses.
Entry to BBxpo, all presentations and lunchtime networking buffet is free to businesses and to anyone looking to start a business or improve their employment skills.
Response from the business community has been enthusiastic and exhibitors will be showcasing products and services including accountancy, banking, copywriting, design, digital media, direct mail, employment, printing equipment, PR, printing services, safety, signs, telecoms, travel, tourism and will writing. Colleges and agencies offering business support, skills training and apprenticeships will also be exhibiting along with community organisations.
The BBxpo presentation programme will provide useful hints and tips on current business topics:
Digital accounting – what your business needs to know – cirrusli
With many VAT registered businesses required to use the government’s Making Tax Digital for Business system from April 2019 – eventually including all businesses – cloud and digital accounting systems specialist Cirrusli Ltd will explain how businesses can prepare themselves so that their digital tax returns are fully compliant.
Learn how to write an article in 30 minutes – pressme
Every business needs to publish words, content and articles. Learn some tricks of the trade from an experienced pressme writer, PR and journalist so that you can write persuasive content for print and online.
